It is the most well known principal of photography and visual arts. It is when a picture is divided into three columns and three rows making nine small boxes. The rule of thirds allow balance to be added to a photo making sure that the main focus of the camera is in the middle and the horizon is centered etc etc. Makes you look and realize the points of interest of the photo and also makes u create interesting ways to take a picture making different balance.
